Networking & Wi-Fi

A network your whole building can count on

Wired networks, Wi-Fi coverage and network infrastructure planned, designed and managed with the rest of your workplace technology.

RoofLevel 3Level 2Level 1

Wi-Fi access points on every floor, and the network racks that feed them.

Almost everything in a modern building runs on the network: video calls, room booking, badge readers, cameras, digital signage, lighting controls and every laptop and phone in the place. When the network is an afterthought, all of it suffers.

We plan and design wired and wireless networks for offices, hotels, campuses and other commercial buildings, then manage the project from start to finish. Like a general contractor for the technology, we run the project from start to finish and coordinate the network with your IT team and every other trade on the job.

Designed with everything that runs on it

A network plan only works if it knows what will connect to it. We design the network alongside the AV, security, cabling and building systems it has to carry, so capacity, power and pathways are right the first time. We're not tied to any brand, so the equipment we recommend is the equipment that fits your building and your IT standards.

Networking & Wi-Fi

Networking services

  • Wi-Fi coverage and capacity design
  • Wireless access point layouts and site surveys
  • Wired network design (switching and routing)
  • Network infrastructure and closet planning
  • Guest and building-systems networks
  • Network refreshes and upgrades
  • Coordination with your IT team or MSP

What this covers

How do you design Wi-Fi for an office or hotel?

Good Wi-Fi is designed, not guessed. We start from the floor plans and how the space is used: how many people and devices, where they gather, and what they need (video calls, guest access, building systems). Walls, glass, ceilings and neighbouring networks all affect coverage.

From that we plan access point locations, mounting and channels, then check the design with a site survey before and after the network goes in, so coverage and capacity are proven rather than assumed.

  • Predictive coverage and capacity design
  • On-site surveys before and after deployment
  • Access point layouts on your floor plans
  • Plans for dense spaces: conference, training and event rooms

Wired networks and network infrastructure

The wired network is the foundation the Wi-Fi, phones, cameras and AV all connect to. We design switching and routing to match the devices it has to support, with room for growth, and plan the closets, power and cooling the equipment needs.

Because we also design the structured cabling, the network and the cable plant are planned together: the right number of connections in the right places, and closets sized for what goes in them.

  • Switching and routing design
  • Power over Ethernet budgets for access points, cameras and displays
  • Closet layouts, power and cooling
  • Planned together with structured cabling

Networks for building technology

Room systems, digital signage, access control, cameras and workplace sensors all need a network, and each has its own security and traffic needs. We plan how they connect, separate them from staff and guest traffic where they should be, and make sure your IT team signs off on the design.

  • Separate networks for AV, security and building systems
  • Guest Wi-Fi kept apart from staff traffic
  • Designed to your IT and security standards

Who manages the network project?

We own the project from start to finish. Like a general contractor for the technology, we plan and design the network and manage it to completion alongside every other trade.

If you already have an IT team or an MSP, we work with them: they keep ownership of the network, and we make sure everything the building adds to it is planned, connected and handed over properly.

  • One accountable team from planning to handover
  • Works with your in-house IT or existing MSP
  • Support after handover

Frequently asked questions

How many Wi-Fi access points does an office need?
It depends on the floor area, the building materials and, above all, how many people and devices use each space. Coverage alone can need fewer access points than capacity: a busy conference floor needs more than an open office of the same size. A predictive design followed by an on-site survey gives the real number.
When should networking be planned in a build-out or renovation?
Before the drawings are final. Access point locations, network closets, power and cabling pathways are cheap to plan early and expensive to add later, and the network has to be ready before AV, security and building systems can be commissioned.
Do you work with our IT team or MSP?
Yes. Your IT team or managed-service provider keeps ownership of the network and its standards. We plan the network around everything the building adds to it and coordinate the work with them, so it's handed over ready to manage.
Are you tied to a networking brand?
No. We're not tied to any brand, so we recommend the equipment that fits your building, your IT standards and your budget.
